2012 Women of Color Task Force (WCTF) Conference

The University of Michigan’s Women of Color Task Force is celebrating 30 years of leadership, advocacy, and change. Founded in 1979, the membership organization provides professional development opportunities for staff and community members. The Task Force serves as a forum for the exchange of information about the status of women of color staff at the University of Michigan and as a focal point for action necessary for the resolution of their concerns.

The WCTF holds the largest professional development conference at the University of Michigan each year. This annual conference will take place on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The program will include workshops such as professional & leadership development, leadership, work-life balance/personal development, and financial education. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Johnnetta B. Cole, director of the Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of African Art. The title of her talk is “The Case for Diversity & Inclusion in American Higher Education.”
