CEW Recognized as a U-M Sustainable Workplace

On April 11, CEW was presented with a certificate in recognition of its efforts to reach the Silver level for the U-M Sustainable Workplace Certification Program. The Certification program encourages all staff and faculty to work together in creating a more sustainable workplace environment. The process began with an initial survey and site visit, followed by the completion of a set of recommendations given by the U-M Office of Campus Sustainability to decrease waste and reduce energy consumption. Some of these recommendations for CEW included enabling default energy saving settings on all computers, printers, copiers and fax machines, purchasing only paper with 30% or greater post-consumer recycled content, and printing double-sided whenever possible. As part of the program, CEW has committed to staying up to date on sustainability efforts at U-M, and making a conscious ongoing effort to reduce its carbon footprint. You can learn more about this program by visiting the U-M Sustainable Workplace website. Time to get involved!
