Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley makes affordable homeownership achievable for low-income, hard working families. Their program is centered on the idea of a hand-up, not a hand-out, that is to say, giving families the opportunity to work hard to purchase a home with a no profit mortgage. This makes owning a decent, safe, affordable home attainable to families that otherwise could not purchase their own home. This year marks HHHV’s 25th year of building and renovating affordable homes for sale to low income families in the community. To date, they have built or renovated 147 homes, and look forward to continuing to help more and more hardworking families in the community.
