Anna Koskiewicz, CEW Scholarship Recipient

Sharing CEW's impact with donors and friends

"No one is going to stop me this time!"

Bullying and teasing led Anna Koskiewicz to drop out of school in 9th grade. Eleven years later, having completed her GED in just 3 months, Anna is a 2nd year student at UM-Dearborn. She aspires to attain a master's degree in clinical psychology and is planning to be a therapist. "I want to help others who have suffered bullying, neglect or abuse."

"When I started attending UM-Dearborn I had been out of school for 10 years and the idea of going to college was intimidating and seemed unrealistic due to financial obligations. But I did it. In the past, I could only dream of achieving my goals."

CEW awarded Anna an American Association of University Women scholarship in 2012. Anna calls it a real boost of confidence. "I thank CEW for believing that I have what it takes to flourish." Anna has a message for others who have faced roadblocks to achieving their dream.

"Don't ever give up. Maybe you start small, but set your goals and achieve them. Feel good about achieving them. Then you can set bigger and bigger goals. Just look where I am today-now I know I will get my degree, and my dream will become a reality."

It is Anna's desire to someday help students who, like herself, have fallen on hard times. "I want to provide them with a lift in achieving their academic goals, just like CEW has done for me."
