CEW & TIAA-CREF Partner Offers Career Development and Financial Education Workshops at U-M in 2015

For decades, CEW has made innovative, accessible and effective employee development a hallmark of its programs and services. CEW will partner with TIAA-CREF in 2015 to provide programming designed to support the professional development and financial education of staff and faculty at the University of Michigan.

1. WCTF Career Conference: For the 4th consecutive year, TIAA-CREF served as the Platinum Plus corporate sponsor for the 2015 WCTF Career Conference which took place on Friday, March 6th. Representatives from the Ann Arbor office were present to conduct two financial education workshops (Charting Your Course: A Financial Guide for Women, and Halfway There: A Retirement Check-Up) and sign up participants for individual appointments. 2. Positioning Yourself for A Career Change Workshops: This two-part workshop sequence will provide strategies for making a job and career transition. Participants will explore a full trajectory from the initial “I want to make a change,” through identifying potential paths, and on to the tangible pieces of applying for positions. This sequence will be offered in April 2015, and during the upcoming Fall 2015 semester. For more information about these sessions, please click here.

3. Financial Education Workshops: Join CEW and TIAA-CREF as we partner to to bring you a series of fun, interactive and informative workshops during the months of March – June, 2015 at the Ann Arbor campus.​ ​Whether you are just starting out in your career, planning for retirement or somewhere in between, TIAA-CREF can help you make informed decisions about your financial future. You may register online for these sessions, or by calling 1-800-732-8353 (Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., ET) to reserve a seat.​ A schedule of the workshop sessions is provided below:

4. Career Development Passport 2.0: In partnership with University Human Resources, UMHS HR Office and CEW, TIAA-CREF will provide financial support for the next version of the Career Development Passport which will continue to build on the services and resources provided by the initial pilot. The new program will include Professional and Managerial tracks as well as outreach to the Dearborn and Flint campuses. Coming in Spring 2016!
