Equal Pay Advocate Lilly Ledbetter to Speak at Rackham Auditorium - Presented by IRWG and Women's Studies
A crusader for equal pay and women's rights, Lilly Ledbetter recounts her story of discrimination at the GoodyearTire & Rubber Company and the subsequent legal battle that resulted in the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Her experience resonates with women everywhere who continue to struggle for equity in the workplace. Today, she is a tireless advocate for change, traveling the country to urge women and minorities to claim their civil rights. She is the author of the book, Grace and Grit: My Fight for Equal Pay and Fairness at Goodyear and Beyond.
A question-and-answer period with the audience and a book signing will follow the lecture. This event is free and open to the public.
