Presidential Management Fellows Program Information Session

Law Day is a great way to connect with a large number of law schools right here on campus! More than 100 schools and over 400 students participate in this annual event, which offers something for everyone: juniors, seniors, graduate students, and alumni/ae. You will learn about specific programs; hear tips about preparing for law school from school representatives; collect application and financial aid information; and obtain advice for the application process, including writing a personal statement and requesting letters of reference. CEW Open House for Community College Transfer Students

Getting Ready for an Academic Career: Preparing Future Faculty Conference–CRLT

This session focuses on the networking role your committee and other mentors play in your academic job search. Job Search Etiquette–Sweating the Small Stuff

You may feel comfortable with the basics of the academic job search: CVs, cover letters, and answers to interview questions about research and teaching. But what about all the Òsmall stuff,Ó the details and etiquette of a job search that no one bothers to tell you? No detail is too minor in this session. Come to discuss issues such as handling meals, alcohol and other social aspects of the interview process; communicating with a search committee; dressing for success; talking about partner/family issues; and understanding the nuances and etiquette of verbal, telephone and email conversations.
