Gyulia Melihoff

“Education has always allowed me to help people near me. I take pride in providing useful advice and recommendations.”

Gyulia Melihoff is passionate about learning and using her education to help others. Gyulia came to the United States in 1998 with the promise of an athletic scholarship in fencing to further her education and attend university; however, she and her mother faced immigration issues and language barriers that ultimately prevented her from attending. Despite this challenge, Gyulia moved to Michigan a year later and began her studies at Oakland Community College, where she earned an associate’s degree in business administration and accounting. To support her education, Gyulia worked as a licensed massage therapist at a multi-specialty clinic and eventually went on to run her own business, Curing Massage, which won the 2020 Award for Best Massage Therapy in Oakland County. Gyulia is proud to have helped many people through a variety of health issues through outstanding quality massage therapy.

Drawing on her degree and her firsthand experience, Gyulia then decided to open her own accounting practice, Clouds Accounting. Gyulia is particularly passionate about helping Michigan families running small businesses: she has provided bookkeeping services and consulting for nearly every aspect of a business. Just a few of her successes include helping a family open and run a farm business, guiding an individual through opening a sole-proprietorship business, and assisting several families in receiving benefits that released them from debt. Gyulia says, “Education has always allowed me to help people near me. I take pride in providing useful advice and recommendations.”

Gyulia is now earning her bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Michigan – Dearborn, where she is recognized for her exceptional “dedication to her education” and “tremendous leadership qualities.” Following her graduation, Gyulia intends to continue helping local Michigan families while pursuing a career in the financial investment field.

CEW+ applauds Gyulia’s persistence in her education and names her a Margaret Dow Towsley Scholar.
