GETTING STARTED

Gabrielle LeFlore

Gabrielle LeFlore is dedicated to a career in healthcare operations to increase access to high-quality care, improve care outcomes, and make care affordable for communities.

After witnessing loved ones fall victim to racial health disparities, social determinants of health inequities, and the healthcare system, Gabrielle LeFlore became passionate about making a difference. She is dedicated to a career in healthcare operations to increase access to high-quality care, improve care outcomes, and make care affordable for communities.

Gabrielle launched her career in the banking industry but pivoted to healthcare consulting to couple her passion with her profession. Now, she is pursuing her goal to make a positive impact in the healthcare industry as a graduate student at U-M’s Ross School of Business. She credits her four-year-old son for her decision to step away from her decade-long career to advance her education.

In addition to her studies at Ross, Gabrielle has completed a competitive internship with Cleveland Clinic’s Regional Hospital Operations team, alleviating challenges and promoting innovation in care delivery; worked in Israel with a FemTech startup to reduce barriers to women’s access to fertility treatments; and completed Ross’ Global Initiatives Comparative Healthcare course in France. She also serves as Vice President for the Health & Life Sciences Club, assists as a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, works for Michigan’s Center for Healthcare Engineering & Patient Safety at Michigan Medicine, participated in Johnson & Johnson’s Henrietta Lacks Case Competition, and is completing her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She is committed to investing in her experience, education, and practice to amplify her learning and command of the healthcare system to make an impact for communities. Gabrielle’s professor and mentor remarks that she exemplifies “academic excellence, agility, dedication, perseverance, and grit.”

Furthermore, Gabrielle balances being a parent and a professional, as her time is devoted to raising her wonderful son. They enjoy traveling, bike riding, park and museum visits, baking cookies, completing puzzles, painting, and Michigan football games.

CEW+ commends Gabrielle’s dedication to caring for her communities and names her the Deodge Hill Scholar.
