U-M CEW+
GETTING STARTED

Since we announced the closure of the Center, the COVID-19 pandemic has worsened in the U.S. and around the world. We know that each one of us has been affected by this global crisis, and we hope that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy.

The CEW+ office is currently closed due to COVID-19 restrictions, but we have gone virtual with our services and programming in order to continue to help and empower you. We look forward to being able to welcome you in the future to our Student Study Space – a safe and welcoming place where you can study, network, or just hang out and relax.

We want to assure you that we are here without judgment. We continue to offer licensed, high-quality education, career, and student financial emergency counseling appointments. Please call (734) 764-6360 and leave a voicemail message. We will call you back and set up a virtual appointment, just as if you had walked into the Center for help.

We are also offering our programming in various virtual formats and will add new services in the weeks to come. To learn more about CEW+, check out our welcome video below! To make sure you remain in close contact with the Center we recommend that you click here to be added to our email distribution lists of upcoming virtual events. We are also sharing resources, tips, and even some humor with those who follow us on social media so please follow us to keep up to date.  Facebook | Instagram | Twitter

We know that each one of us has been affected by the pandemic, and we hope that you and your loved ones are safe and healthy. We also want to offer that this should not be a time that we engage in comparative suffering. Please don’t feel you have to decide if you have the right to the feelings you are having about your career or educational journey. Or that you have to determine if your emergency financial need is bad enough to call for an appointment. Rather, as a Center working to empower those we serve, this is a time for everyone to reach out. Simply call (734) 764-6360 for an appointment.

CEW+ recently sent out a needs assessment survey asking students to share their experiences surrounding the University of Michigan’s switch to remote learning. We used those responses to help build a new CEW+ Online Learning Resource Guide that aims to provide recommendations and guidance to students and recent graduates as they navigate today’s new normal. This guide has recommendations on how to engage with your professors and classmates to leverage university resources for finding employment opportunities. There are also sections on wellness, productivity, and encouraging quotes from survey respondents. We hope this resource finds you in time to provide some valuable information, wherever you may be in your academic or career paths.

Finally, if you are in a position to help CEW+ continue our work during the pandemic you can contribute to our efforts here: GIVE NOW. If you have questions or would like more information about giving to CEW+, please contact us at 734-764-6360.
